Anisha

Hi! I’m Anisha, originally from Singapore and currently based in London, where I study Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE. I achieved 42/45 in the IB, including 7s in HL Biology and HL Psychology, and As in my EE and TOK. Academically, I’ve always leaned towards understanding the “why” behind things rather than just memorising the answer — probably why PBS ended up being the right degree for me. I bring the same approach to tutoring: I enjoy finding ways to make difficult concepts genuinely click, rather than simply teaching students what to memorise for an exam. I have around nine months of tutoring experience through UPchieve, where I worked with students to break down difficult concepts and develop clearer approaches to questions. There’s something especially satisfying about watching a concept go from confusing to obvious for someone else, particularly when you remember exactly what that confusion felt like yourself. Outside of academics, I do gymnastics and contemporary dance, and I have a long-running interest in fashion and investigative journalism. So if a session ever needs a slightly unconventional example to make a concept stick, I’ll probably find one!

  Conduct quantitative research using large behavioural datasets, developing skills in data analysis, research methodology and communicating complex findings clearly.

• UPchieve — Tutor

  2024 – 2025

  Provided approximately nine months of online tutoring support to students, breaking down challenging concepts into clear, structured explanations and adapting teaching approaches to individual needs.

• Care Alliance Counselling — Intern

  Gained experience in a mental-health setting, including analysing therapy sessions and developing a practical understanding of psychological concepts relevant to clinical and treatment contexts.
