Subject and level conditions
- For September 2026 to February 2029 intakes, priority is given to applicants with at least 1 HL subject in business, economics, natural sciences or math.
- For September 2026 to February 2029 intakes, priority is given to applicants with at least one natural science subject (HL or SL).
- For September 2026 to February 2029 intakes, priority is given to applicants with math at SL or HL; both math streams are accepted.
- HL languages are encouraged.
- From the September 2029 intake onwards, applicants must fully meet the IBDP subject and level requirements to remain eligible: min 1 HL in business/economics/natural sciences/math; at least one natural science (HL or SL); math at SL or HL (both streams accepted); HL languages encouraged.
- From the September 2029 intake onwards, a 6th subject can be considered but cannot replace the required subjects.
- Students are expected to have studied Math during the last 3 years of secondary education.
How to apply
Direct application through the EHL online portal: create an account, submit passport copy, diplomas and transcripts, language certificate (if applicable) and a 500-650 word essay, pay a CHF220 non-refundable application fee, then complete an online interview and aptitude tests, and a final interview if passed. Final IB results are to be released by the IB to transcripts.row@ibo.org with the EHL student number and institutional code 002346.
Language requirements
- All applicants must demonstrate at least C1 level in English in speaking, writing, reading and listening.
- Students who completed the IB in English can satisfy the English-language proof through that curriculum (it is listed among the accepted English-medium curricula).
- Applicants for the French section need proof of French (3 years of secondary education in French, or DSLCF or DALF C1) plus an English certificate, unless exempted by having completed the IB in English, among other curricula.
Deadlines
- February 2027 intake (4-year Bachelor): 31 October 2026 (VISA deadline); 15 December 2026 (final deadline).
- September 2027 intake (4-year Bachelor): 31 May 2027 (VISA deadline); 15 June 2027 (final deadline).
Worth knowing
- Only the full IB Diploma is considered.
- For September 2026 to February 2029 intakes, the minimum is 28 points, with priority given to 30 (not counting the 3 core points).
- From the September 2029 intake onwards, the minimum is 30 points (not counting the 3 core points).
- Predicted grades are required for IB candidates who have not received their diploma by the application deadline; conditional acceptance is possible, with final results and a diploma copy submitted once available.
- In general, EHL requires grades well above the minimum passing level and considers the difficulty of the courses taken.
- The minimum age is 18 before the course start date.
- The Bachelor is delivered in English or French; the Preparatory Year is only delivered in English.
- Direct entry into the Bachelor has separate deadlines and conditions.
