- Admission to the diploma studies in human medicine and dentistry requires the general university entrance qualification.
- An IB Diploma obtained in accordance with the regulations of the International Baccalaureate Organisation is listed as accepted proof of the general university entrance qualification (section 64(1) UG).
- The European Baccalaureate Diploma is also listed as accepted proof of the general university entrance qualification.
- A foreign qualification can also prove the general university entrance qualification if it gives access to all sectors of higher education in the country of issue, schooling lasts at least twelve years, and general education content predominates (six general education subjects: two languages, mathematics, one science, one humanities and one further general education subject).
- If equivalence of a foreign certificate is not given, the Rectorate prescribes supplementary examinations (preparation programme) to be passed before admission to regular studies.
- If schooling lasted only eleven years or general education content is missing, the Rectorate may prescribe up to four supplementary examinations before admission.
- If schooling lasted only ten years or less, the proof is insufficient and cannot be compensated with supplementary examinations.
