Studying at Universität Augsburg with the IB

Online application through the VIBS portal. Documents are uploaded there: officially certified copies of certificates, a preliminary review documentation (VPD) for Universität Augsburg from uni-assist (allow 6-8 weeks), proof of German, a passport copy and a CV. An APS certificate is needed only for certificates from India, China and Vietnam. For NC programmes, applicants must first register with hochschulstart.

• Applicants must submit proof of German, and this also applies to German citizens.
• Studienkolleg applicants must submit proof of German at level B2 GER with their application.
• For the DSH exam, applicants submit proof of German at level B1 GER if the degree programme requires B2, or at level B2 GER if it requires C1.

• Programmes with NC (admission restriction) and programmes with EFV (aptitude assessment procedure) have the earlier deadline of 15 July 2026.
• Programmes with NC: only a higher semester can be selected for the summer semester.

• 15 July 2026: complete applications for programmes with NC or EFV.
• 15 July: applications for the Studienkolleg or the DSH exam.
• Mid-September: applications for programmes without NC and without EFV, provided a recognised German language certificate at the required level is shown by then and no Studienkolleg is needed.

• The page for applicants with international certificates explicitly covers applicants with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
• Separate pages exist for Master's programmes, music, human medicine, midwifery science, LL.M. programmes, doctoral studies and exchange students.
• The university's admissions page gives no IB points threshold or IB subject requirements.
