How to apply
Applicants with foreign certificates first need a certificate of recognition from JGU, which confirms university entrance qualification and converts grades into the JGU system. Further formal requirements may apply depending on the degree program.
Worth knowing
- The country-specific requirements page lists an IB/GIB rule within the Indonesia-related guidance: IB/GIB graduates must submit the transcript of records from the final two school years (term or semester reports) in addition to the certificate issued by the IB organization.
- The transcripts must show the level at which each of the six IB subjects was taken during the two-year IB program.
- If no official IB diploma has been issued yet at the time of application, the official transcript of grades from the IBO office in Cardiff, UK, can be submitted as a substitute for recognition.
- The deciding factor for the country-specific requirements is where the qualification was completed, not nationality.
- Applicants do not have to apply as international applicants if they are EU/EEA citizens, hold a German Abitur or German university degree, or hold a European Baccalaureate whose grade has been officially converted to the JGU system.
- Applicants who do not yet meet all requirements may be able to acquire them at JGU through a preparatory German language course and a Studienkolleg.
