How to apply

Applications for undergraduate programmes with restricted local admission are submitted online through the ALMA application and enrolment portal. Up to three applications can be submitted, and all three are treated equally. Some programmes require application through the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV).

Courses with restricted admission

  • Programmes with restricted local admission require an application via ALMA.
  • DoSV programmes for the winter semester: Biochemistry B.Sc., Bioinformatics B.Sc., Biology B.Sc., Economics and Business Administration B.Sc., Empirical Education Sciences and Psychology B.Sc., Educational Science and Social Work / Adult Education B.A., Geoecology B.Sc., Midwifery Science B.Sc., International Business Administration B.Sc., Cognitive Science B.Sc., Media Informatics B.Sc., Medical Informatics B.Sc., Medical Technology B.Sc., Molecular Medicine B.Sc., Care Science B.Sc., Psychology B.Sc., Psychology polyvalent B.Sc., Jurisprudence State Examination, Sports science, Environmental Science B.Sc.
  • DoSV programmes for the summer semester: Bioinformatics B.Sc. and Jurisprudence State Examination.

Deadlines

  • Winter semester applications: the application, including all documents, must be complete in ALMA by 15 July, 24:00.
  • Summer semester applications: the application, including all documents, must be complete in ALMA by 15 January, 24:00.
  • Documents received after the deadline are not considered.
  • The winter semester application campaign for undergraduate programmes is expected to start in the first week of June.

Worth knowing

  • The page on the higher education entrance qualification names the Baccalaureate Diploma as an example of a foreign qualification, but it does not mention the IB specifically and does not say whether the IB is accepted.
  • An officially certified copy of the higher education entrance qualification is needed at enrolment. Simple uncertified copies are enough for the application.
  • Detailed rules on average grades are in Annex 2 of the Baden-Württemberg Hochschulvergabeverordnung (HVVO).
  • Admission notifications are usually issued at the beginning of August for the winter semester and at the beginning of February for the summer semester.
